One in 10 homebuyers and sellers say climate-related risks—hurricanes, flooding, wildfires, extreme temperatures and/or rising sea levels—are the primary reason for their move, and 39% say they’re a contributing factor.
That’s according to a Redfin-commissioned survey of 1,500 U.S. residents who are planning to buy or sell a home in the next 12 months. The survey was fielded by research technology company Lucid from December 10 to 13, 2021.
