The Tennessee housing market had a record-breaking transaction with the $32 million residential property sale.
The 50-acre property located in Belle Meade, a Nashville suburb, features a 19,811-square-foot mansion with five bedrooms and 10 bathrooms. According to the Wall Street Journal, the property was first listed for $50 million in 2022 as a two-property package that included a 10-acre building site. The package was later divided and the residential property was listed for $40 million before being discounted to its sale price; the vacant property has yet to be sold.
The buyer was a trust linked to Christopher R. Redlich Jr., a retired shipping executive, while the seller was Dr. Thomas Frist Jr., the co-founder of HCA Healthcare, who purchased the property for $2.2 million in 1993 and built the residence in 2001.
The previous record for a Tennessee home sale was $28 million for a property in 2010.
