The regional housing boom is continuing to squeeze Gippsland renters out of secure housing, as rents rise and demand outweighs supply in an extremely tight housing market.

Shannen Cole, her partner, and her two infant children were given 60 days to vacate their Warragul rental home after the owner decided to sell the property by vacant possession.
“At the moment, houses are quite hard to get,” Ms Cole said.
“There seems to be fewer houses than the amount of people applying for them.
“So far I’ve probably applied for over 50 houses, and each open house has an excessive amount of people.”
