The Canadian government is investing nearly $71 million for the construction of 207 purpose-built rental units in Montreal.
Funding for this endeavor will be provided as fully repayable, low-interest loans through the Apartment Construction Loan Program (ACLP), which is part of the government National Housing Strategy for investing more than $115 billion over 10 years.
“By making it easier, less costly and faster to build rental housing in Montreal, our government is ensuring that Quebec families have access to a safe, affordable home,” said Steven MacKinnon, Minister of Labour and Seniors. “Today’s announcement marks another step in our work to end Canada’s housing crisis once and for all.”
