Airbnb Inc. (NASDAQ: ABNB) announced the appointment of Ahmad Al-Dahle as chief technology officer.
Al-Dahle joins Airbnb from Meta, where he was vice president and head of the Generative AI group. During his time at Meta, he was responsible for the launch of the Llama a family of open-source AI models and coordinated the introduction of AI features in the Facebook, Instagram, and WhatsApp platforms. Earlier in his career, he spent nearly 17 years at Apple Inc. that culminated in leading the company’s Special Project Group.
“Ahmad is joining Airbnb at a pivotal moment,” said Airbnb CEO Brian Chesky, noting how Al-Dahle “connects big ideas with technical depth, highly values design, and believes engineering should be a true strategic partner in everything we do. More importantly, he shares our belief that technology should serve people—not the other way around—and that its highest purpose is to bring us closer together.”
