Propy, a blockchain real estate platform, announced the appointment of Michael Piwowar, a former commissioner of the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC), as an advisory board member.
In his new role, Piwowar will be tasked with helping the company navigate the regulatory environment. Piwowar, who served on the SEC from 2013 to 2018, is currently a distinguished policy fellow at Georgetown University’s Center for Financial Markets and Policy.
“I’m incredibly excited to be aligning with Propy as the real estate market presents an enormous opportunity for innovation,” Piwowar said. “Real estate is a cornerstone of the global economy, and leveraging cutting-edge technologies like blockchain and AI are essential to overcoming the many challenges the industry faces.”
Propy also appointed Michael Casey to its board of directors. Casey is a former Wall Street Journal columnist and served as chief content officer at CoinDesk.
