The longtime Hollywood home of TV game show host Bob Barker has been listed for $2.98 million.
According to a Wall Street Journal report, Barker acquired the property in 1969. Located in the Hollywood Hills community Outpost Estates, the roughly 5,000-square-foot residence was built in 1929 and still offers all the original detail from that period – including the original bar with an icebox in its den.
Barker first gained television stardom in 1956 as the original host of the “Truth or Consequences” game show before going on to greater celebrity as “The Price is Right” host from 1972 to 2007. His property, which is located 15 minutes from “The Price is Right” studio, has its own colorful history – in the late 19th century, it was owned by Gen. Harrison Gray Otis, the first publisher of the Los Angeles Times, and was later acquired by Charles E. Toberman, a developer who built the Hollywood Bowl and Grauman’s Chinese Theatre.
