As 2023 speeds along, here’s another look around the state at what buyers and sellers can expect in Indiana’s real estate market.
Average 30-year fixed mortgage rates still sit over 6%, and mortgage application volumes were 44% lower nationally than the same week one year ago.
At today’s rates, home prices would have to fall by 30% for homebuyers who are purchasing the median-priced home to have the same monthly payment they would have had a year ago, according to USA TODAY.
Let’s see what homes listed between $400,000 and $500,000 look like in various cities around the state.

For buyers open to considering condos on their search, there is a very interesting warehouse-style loft on College Avenue. Listed at $429,900, this 2-bedroom 2-bath features exposed wood beams and ductwork, 18-foot ceilings and a full wall of windows.
For great views of the city, check out the balcony of the master bedroom or the building’s rooftop deck. The 1922 building’s history combined with the modern design and look of the condo makes for a unique spot in a location near Bottleworks and more.
