Housing Minister Sean Fraser stated rural communities need "all levels of government to work together" on housing needs.

The Canadian government and the Nova Scotia towns of New Glasgow, Pictou and Westville announced the fast tracking for the creation of more 190 homes over the next three years.

The agreements under the Housing Accelerator Fund, will provide nearly $5.6 million to the endeavor. New Glasgow will receive almost $3.3 million while Pictou will receive more than $775,000 and Westville will receive over $1.5 million.
