CBRE Group Inc. (NYSE:CBRE), the world’s largest commercial real estate services and investment firm, has acquired Direct Line Global, a portfolio company of Guardian Capital Partners.

Founded in 1997 and based in Fremont, California, Direct Line Global provides design, installation, maintenance and management solutions for data center owners and operators, primarily in the U.S. The company employs over 1,000 technicians in the U.S. and Asia, and it provides technical services including server support infrastructure, whereas CBRE currently focuses on facilities management services.

The financial terms of the acquisition were not disclosed.

“The company has achieved significant and diversified growth in a demanding data center market,” said Bill Nelligan, CEO of Direct Line. “Guardian’s partnership was instrumental in fostering our evolution of the business and we look forward to continuing this growth under CBRE’s ownership.”

“This acquisition fits squarely with our strategy of enhancing our capabilities in asset classes that benefit from secular tailwinds – in this case, the increasing digitization of the global economy,” added Vikram Kohli, chief operating officer of CBRE. “Direct Line Global perfectly complements our existing data center management capabilities and provides us with best-in-class technical capabilities that differentiate our service offering.”
