Denver homeowners will no longer be receiving their property tax statements by mail.

CBS News reports the City and County of Denver are sending postcards to property owners that offer instructions on viewing and paying their annual property taxes on the city’s website. Statements will be available for download, and homeowners will be able to make payments by mail, online, or in person.

Denver officials said this shift to online statements will result in annual savings of nearly 500,000 pieces of paper and $100,000 in mailing costs.

“We are constantly evaluating opportunities to become more efficient stewards of taxpayer dollars,” said Nicole Doheny, the city’s chief financial officer. “Moving to online property tax statements makes the most of our new property search tools on our website.”
