The Hudson Companies, the real estate developer focused on New York City and the surrounding metro area, hired Ellen Kackmann as principal and co-head of development, where she’ll oversee Hudson’s affordable housing portfolio.

Kackmann, who will be a member of Hudson’s Leadership Committee, will initially manage five active developments by executing project strategies and providing senior leadership support for project teams.

Prior to her role at Hudson Companies, Kackmann was vice president of affordable and workforce housing at The Albanese Organization. Previously, she was vice president of real estate and asset management at Comunilife.

“Ellen is an incredible addition to the Hudson family, bringing decades of affordable housing expertise and strong leadership,” said David Kramer, President of The Hudson Companies. “Her record of managing major development efforts, guiding substantial budgets, and building strong partnerships across the public and private sectors makes her a perfect fit. As Principal, she will play a critical role in advancing the firm’s growth and expanding our affordable housing portfolio across New York City and beyond.”
