HPI, a Texas-based full-service real estate firm, announced former University of Texas and NFL quarterback Colt McCoy will launch the company’s new Fort Worth office.

McCoy played college football for the Texas Longhorns, winning several awards and honors as a senior in 2009. He was selected by the Cleveland Browns in the third round of the 2010 NFL draft and later was a member of the San Francisco 49ers, Washington Redskins, New York Giants, and Arizona Cardinals.

After 14 years in the NFL, McCoy is starting a new career in real estate – his brother Case is a partner with HPI’s Tenant Advisory platform. While industrial will be the initial focus of the new Fort Worth office, HPI has plans to build a full-service platform from third-party leasing and management to development and acquisition.

“Everything we do starts with people, and Colt McCoy is the ideal leader,” said Hunter Lee, HPI partner and senior managing director. “I’ve never met anyone more ‘as advertised’ than Colt – as a person, as a father, and as a man of faith. He’s honest, community-minded, and wants to make an impact in planting the HPI flag in Fort Worth.”

“It’s really the first time in my life I’ve been able to choose where I want to live without football dictating my homebase,” said McCoy. “As a West Texas boy at heart, it feels good to be closer to home. Fort Worth is where the Lord led us. It’s the place I want to raise my kids.”
