Federal Housing Finance Agency (FHFA) Director Bill Pulte has announced his agency is establishing a tip line for the reporting of mortgage fraud activity.

In a series of posts on X, Pulte declared this will be part of an increased effort by the FHFA to combat mortgage fraud.

“There is no room for fraud in our mortgage markets. None,” he wrote. “We will continue to root out frauds and cheats wherever we find it. No one and no company is above the law – no one. We will be establishing a tip line where anyone and everyone can submit tips on anyone fraudulently filling out mortgage apps. Special Agents at FHFA work around the clock to prosecute mortgage fraud – with DOJ and other relevant law enforcement. Thank you!”

Pulte announced the initiative on his personal X account – there was no mention of this on either the FHFA’s X account or the agency’s website.
