A real estate firm in Idaho is making local liberals an offer that it assumes they can’t refuse – free real estate listings for their properties if they move out of the state.
Idaho Wild based in the Boise suburb of Eagle, put postings on Facebook and X that declare: “Free Listing (no commission fees) for any liberal who will be moving OUT of Idaho. We are here to help you return to your safe spaces!” The posts include a picture of a couple wearing disposable face masks, and the company also offered to “throw in an additional $1000 cash and a case of masks if it is a family from Eagle, specifically!”
According to a report in The Spokesman-Review, Mark Fitzpatrick, the company’s owner and a retired California police officer who relocated to Idaho, stated his marketing effort was based on his concerns on the state of contemporary liberal politics.
“The liberalism of today is not the liberalism of decades past,” he said. “I’ve gotten to the point where … I don’t want that around. I don’t want liberalism around my family. I don’t want it around my community.”
To be polite, Fitzpatrick is not subtle about his politics. He also owns the Old State Saloon in the town of Eagle and once hosted a “Hetero Awesome Fest” event in response to the Boise Pride Festival. The saloon also offered to adopt the babies of readers considering an abortion and hosted a singles night “only for Trump voters.”
Fitzpatrick admitted that no one has taken him up on the offer – although he fielded plenty of feedback that ran the gamut from commendation to condemnation.
“Everything from people in full support and throwing in additional offers … all the way to people lecturing me about being, whatever, hateful and un-Christian,” said Fitzpatrick, who claimed he would offer conservative clients moving to the state a free AR-15.

This attention seeking hoax is exactly why people don’t respect or trust real estate agents. Looks like desperation rather than humorous, “ah shucks” marketing. It is actually discriminatory in practice and certainly not in the best interest of the community. Ever reviewed the code of ethics?? I bet the buyer’s agent compensation is also negotiable, right? Total bait and switch, and if they were really serious about getting those so called “liberals” out of town and to a “safe place”, they would simply get all their rich, like-minded buddies together and present every liberal (not sure how that is determined) an excellent, fair-market offer for their property and buy their home from them. And with that, it is also extremely disrespectful to those folks who actually lost loved ones to Covid, to mock those who cared enough to wear a mask? Doesn’t mean you are liberal to wear a mask, but it does show that you may have a conscience and aren’t so self-absorbed that you forget to care about your friends and neighbors.
