Austin-headquartered Keller Williams announced that Mark Willis is stepping down as president and CEO and will take on the newly created role of chief leadership officer.
Willis served as president from 2002 to 2005 and as CEO from 2005 to 2015. He continued to own company franchises after stepping down in 2015 and post-leadership work included the founding of a nutritional supplement company and the running of a foundation focused on supporting cancer detection programs. He resumed the leadership positions in November 2023.
Co-Founder Gary Keller announced Willis’ new role in an email to the company’s employees, adding that Stacie Herron, the chief legal and administrative officer, will serve as interim chief operating officer while a search begins for a new chief executive.
“Now, I am excited to take on a new challenge as I transition to a new role that Gary and I have worked together for some time to create,” Willis said. “As chief leadership officer, I will focus on helping our leaders grow and achieve their highest potential.”
