The National Association of Realtors issued a statement of support for President Trump’s Executive Order titled “Delivering Emergency Price Relief for American Families and Defeating the Cost-of-Living Crisis,” which addresses issues of housing affordability and the challenges of a low housing supply.
“The National Association of Realtors applauds President Trump for bringing attention to the dire need to address the urgent and ongoing challenges surrounding housing affordability and supply,” said NAR Chief Advocacy Officer Shannon McGahn. “Our team has communicated these issues to the President’s team, highlighting that the lack of supply is the number one driver of housing cost and, in turn, is hurting the housing market and shutting out first-time buyers. Also, in our discussions, we encouraged the Administration to focus on property rights, inventory, affordability, and accessibility to housing, which would help stimulate the economy and give more Americans the ability to build generational wealth.
“The President’s Executive Order underscores the critical need for bold, coordinated action to lower housing costs and increase the availability of homes for families across this country,” McGahn added. “NAR has long advocated for policies encouraging housing development, improving affordability, and supporting sustainable homeownership opportunities. We look forward to working with the Administration in the next steps and putting this executive order into motion.”

I guess your earlier message was heard!
If Trump wants to slap 25% tariffs on Canadian lumber then we can kiss affordable new construction goodby. Builders will need to pass the additional cost to the consumer.
I have read the order several times. After suffering through the insulting and puerile first paragraphs I fail to see anything actionable or capable of being actionable in the last paragraph. I look forward to a deep dive analysis in Orlando.
NAR is a sycophantic group with a lock on things they never should have taken for themselves. What is it they are doing for us, exactly besides…fees? They support whomever comes down the pike, I’m sure because they feel they must, making it impossible to respect them.
They sold us out on the whole buyer agent contract lawsuits. More business for listing agents and less for buyer agents is the result of their weak settlement
