Zillow (NASDAQ: Z, ZG) and the News Corp (NASDAQ: NWSA) subsidiary Realtor.com announced an agreement where Zillow 3D Home tours, interactive floor plans and photos will be shared in listings syndicated to Realtor.com.
This is the second agreement between the platforms this year, following an earlier pact to syndicate Zillow’s multifamily rental listings to Realtor.com. With the new collaboration, the company stated real estate agents can quickly and easily share immersive virtual content on both sites.
“At Zillow, we have long believed that more rich, interactive listing content benefits buyers, sellers, and agents,” said Cynthia Taylor, vice president of product at Zillow. “That’s why we provide our Zillow 3D Home technology to the industry for free, and it’s why we’re excited about collaborating with Realtor.com® to share our 3D tours and interactive floor plans with more shoppers. When shoppers have more information, they can make better decisions. We think that’s a good thing no matter where shoppers are looking.”
“At Realtor.com, we’re committed to constantly enhancing the home search experience, and this relationship with Zillow raises the bar,” said Angela Lu, Realtor.com vice president of corporate and business development. “By seamlessly integrating Zillow’s 3D Home tour technology into listings on our site, we’re empowering agents to better showcase their sellers’ properties while giving homebuyers a more immersive, informed way to explore homes—it’s a win-win for everyone.”
Progress is finally being made between the 2 Giants.
wow… soon the need for the MLS and realtor will be history. real estate agents like the travel agents will soon be history mostly. every one of these technology improvements is one more nail in the coffin of the old school real estate agent, realtor. glad I’m old and ready to retire…. it’s time for those backup plans, seems there’s no turning the clock back now.
How do you think those listings appear on both sites?
Great thing for all the great relocation companies and families
I hear ya!
Buyers can’t do mortgages or mortgage assistance by themselves.
I had buyers call me from these websites so I could show them property.
And I helped them negotiate debt and get $100,000 more of a home.
It’s a visual technology and people don’t need to live close to where they live. We have a lot of remote workers.
Embrace the change.
Weichert Realtors Exclusive Properties does.
Very soon there will be national real estate online platforms using blockchain technology that can provide real estate listings and offer for sale information, transaction support, data sharing services and payments that will top MLS platforms and empower the broker/agent. Vendors will be located on this platform to perform the services needed for the real estate industry to transact business.
Platform security will be superior because of the blockchain technology used.
