At a time when the average first-time homebuyer age is 40, a new YouTube channel has launched with a series of videos highlighting homebuyers in their twenties.
Three Creeks Media has launched “Under 30 Homebuyer,” with a series of videos hosted Kara Cherea Sullivan, who became a real estate agent at age 20. “Under 30 Homebuyer” is debuting with five episodes, with the first entry “How I Bought a Home at 24” featuring Sullivan’s path to homeownership.
Other episodes include “From Side Hustle to Homeowner at 26” featuring Danielle Rubin, who started a softball coaching business and bought a home at 26; “With Just 3% Down We Got Approved for a House!” featuring Eric Cooke and Alex Doniel, which emphasizes that the lack of perfect credit is not an obstacle to homebuying; “I Bought My First Home On Just $38K/Yr,” featuring Brielle Underwood, a homeowner at 24 who shows how adding roommates can help you afford a home on a moderate salary; and “I Bought My Third Home by 28 and Here’s What I Learned,” featuring Caroline Lenhardt in a review of the homebuying process.
An upcoming episode will showcase a 21-year-old buyer who purchased in today’s high-rate, low-inventory market.
“Gen Z and younger Millennials are no longer relying on traditional search or financial explainers to make major life decisions,” said Tim Lucas, mortgage expert and general manager of Three Creeks Media. “They are turning to Reddit for lived experiences, YouTube for peer-led learning and social platforms for unfiltered accounts of what actually worked.”
