If any of our British readers spot a convoy of moving trucks in the vicinity of Windsor, that could belong to some of the area’s most famous residents.

William and Catherine, the Prince and Princess of Wales, are moving with their three children to the eight-bedroom Forest Lodge in Windsor Great Park. The family had been living in Adelaide Cottage in the castle grounds since August 2022, and the royals decided to change residences after the princess’ diagnosis and treatment for cancer.

“Windsor has become their home. However, over the last few years while they have lived at Adelaide Cottage there have been some really difficult times,” a royal source told the BBC. “Moving gives them an opportunity for a fresh start and a new chapter. It’s an opportunity to leave some of the more unhappy memories behind.”

The royal source added this will be a long-term residence for the prince and princess, who consider Forest Lodge as their forever home – indeed, the plan to continue living there after they become King and Queen.

The relocation will be funded privately, and the royal couple will pay market rent on the property. State money will not be used for their move and residency.
