The City of Jackson, Mississippi, has partnered with Grow America, a New York City-based community and economic development nonprofit, to create the Real Estate Developer Academy, an initiative is designed to educate aspiring developers on how to create and complete development projects.
WJTV reports the new academy will offer hands-on training in all key aspects of real estate development including land acquisition, securing financing, and project construction. Participants will also receive mentorship and networking opportunities.
“Jackson’s economic growth depends on empowering local talent to shape the future of our city,” said Mayor Chokwe A. Lumumba. “The Real Estate Developer Academy will provide emerging developers with the tools and connections they need to bring their ideas to life while ensuring our communities grow in a way that is inclusive and sustainable.”
Grow America was founded in 1969 as the National Development Council and it focuses on bringing capital investment and financial expertise to underserved areas across the nation.
