Following her separation from Ben Affleck, Jennifer Lopez is house hunting in Los Angeles and has reportedly zeroed in on one of the market’s most famous luxury properties.
TMZ, citing its coverage from unnamed “sources with direct knowledge,” reported the singer-actress is in discussions to acquire the Azria Estate in Holmby Hills. The 3-acre property features a 30,000-square-foot estate with 14 bedrooms and 25 full bathrooms. It is listed for $55 million – although TMZ reported Lopez is trying to negotiate the price down to between $30 million and $39 million.
The property was designed by the prominent architect Paul R. Williams and built in 1939 as the home for Charles Correll, the radio actor who starred on “Amos ‘n’ Andy.” Writer and producer Sidney Shelton acquired the property in 1978 and expanded the residence, which was later bought in 2005 for $14.4 million by Max Azria, founder of BCBG. Lopez first visited the estate in 2022 during the production of the film “Atlas,” and the property is adjacent to the home of Sean “Diddy” Combs, a former boyfriend of Lopez.
However, the property’s ownership is in dispute – the Azria Estate put the property up for auction earlier this year and billionaire investor Ron Burkle put in a $30 million winning bid. But Burkle and Azria’s estate are now in a legal fight over an alleged breach of contract.
As for Lopez, she was spotted over the weekend having brunch with her estranged husband. The New York Post reported Lopez, Affleck and their children were together at the Beverly Hills Hotel, with an unnamed source claiming the estranged couple were “holding hands and kissing.”
Who needs a place that big? Probably not on Ben’s hit list of places to live. I don’t blame him for wanting to keep it simple.
Unless one has 15 kids, why do they need a home with 14 BRs and 25 bathrooms??
