Realtors in the hometown of Thomas Matthew Crooks, the shooter who took aim at former President Donald Trump, are reporting a significant slowdown in residential property showings since last Saturday’s assassination attempt.
TMZ spoke with multiple realtors representing residential properties in Bethel Park, Pennsylvania, where Crooks lived. Realtor Kristy Kaslewicz complained she’s had no showings since the shooting, noting that law enforcement barricaded the block leading to Crooks’ home.
“Up until that day, I had two to three showings a day at my listing in Bethel Park, only a few blocks from the shooter’s parent’s home,” she said. “Since then, I haven’t had a single scheduled showing.”
Another realtor, Susan Deely, echoed Kaslewicz by stating the market “stagnated” after the shooting, which grazed Trump’s ear and killed one person while leaving two others injured; Crooks was killed by law enforcement officers. A third realtor, Michael Pohlot, noted he has a listing near the shooter’s parents’ home and field some interest, but has yet to secure any formal offers.
The realtors are optimistic the market will return to normal when the national focus on the shooting starts to fade.
