Virginia Realtors has announced the appointment of Rick Lugg as its new CEO.
Lugg is being promoted from his positions as chief financial officer and chief operating officer at the trade group representing nearly 35,000 realtors. He succeeds Terrie Suit, who retired last fall. Earlier in his career, he held IT management positions at Circuit City and Regions Mortgage and was a programmer analyst in the US Air Force.
“Following a comprehensive search to identify our next leader, I am pleased to share that Rick Lugg has accepted his appointment as Virginia Realtors’ new CEO,” said Lorraine Arora, the organization’s 2025 president. “With his extensive leadership background, IT expertise, and deep understanding of our association and industry, Rick is well equipped to excel in this role. For 15 years, his leadership, innovation, and thoughtful approach have helped propel our association forward. With Rick at the helm, we are confident in a bright future for our organization.”
“I am honored to be entrusted with the responsibility of leading Virginia’s largest trade organization and, most importantly, representing realtors and the critical role they play in our economy,” Lugg said. “Stepping into this position presents the incredible opportunity to help deepen our efforts on behalf of all Virginians hoping to achieve the goal of homeownership.”
