Single-family housing starts in June were at a rate of 883,000, according to data from the US Census Bureau and Department of Housing and Urban Development. This is 4.6% below the revised May figure of 926,000.

Privately-owned housing starts in June were at a seasonally adjusted annual rate of 1.321 million, which is 4.6% above the revised May estimate of 1.26 million but is 0.5% under the June 2024 rate of 1.327 million.

Single-family authorizations in June were at a rate of 866,000, a 3.7% drop from the revised May figure of 899,000. Privately-owned housing units authorized by building permits in June were at a seasonally adjusted annual rate of 1.397 million, a scant 0.2% uptick from the revised May rate of 1.394 million but also a 4.4% drop from the June 2024 rate of 1.46 million.

Single-family housing completions in June were at a rate of 908,000, which is 12.5% below the revised May rate of 1.03 million. Privately-owned housing completions in June were at a seasonally adjusted annual rate of 1.31 million, which is 14.7% below the revised May estimate of 1.54 million and 24.1% below the June 2024 rate of 1.73 million.
