Subtext, a St. Louis-based integrated real estate development company, has created of an acquisitions vertical as part of its strategic expansion and hired Mike Hung to lead this initiative as a partner and executive vice president of acquisitions.
Based in Charlotte, North Carolina, Hung has 15 years of experience in the real estate sector and has transacted on over $1 billion of student housing throughout his career. He previously worked as senior vice president of acquisitions and was a member of the executive team for CA Ventures’ student housing platform, CA Student Living. He also held a similar position at Waypoint Residential, where he launched their student housing division and oversaw all student housing acquisitions and dispositions. Prior to joining Subtext, he founded Citrine Partners, a multifamily investment shop with a specialized focus on student housing at top-tier universities. He is also a member of ULI’s National Student Housing Council.
