The Simi Valley, California-based house that gained movie immortality as the haunted residence in the classic 1982 horror film “Poltergeist” has been listed for sale for the first time in 45 years.

Built in 1979, the 0.37-acre property features a 2,373-square-foot residence with four bedrooms and two-and-a-half bathrooms, along with a three-car garage. The listing also calls out to investors by highlighting how the property has “much room to lot split and build a second home!”

The home is on the market for $1.17 million, and the listing jokingly acknowledges the cinematic connection by insisting it is “ready to welcome a new family, without the ghostly antics, we promise!” The listing adds, “Jacuzzi and Large Sparkling pool ideal for cooling off on hot California days or hosting epic pool parties. Plus, it’s much safer than building a portal to another dimension!”
