Born in Texas, raised in Colorado, Tiani (Hatch) Shoemaker moved to Utah in 1993 after receiving a four year, full-ride academic/athletic scholarship to Brigham Young University for her All American accolades in basketball. Three years later she married the quarterback of the BYU football team, and shortly after had her first child, a son, Schyler. Soon after, she graduated with a degree in Fashion Merchandising and moved with her young family to Salt Lake City.
A few years later, she unexpectedly became a single mother to three young children, soon after she earned her real estate license in order to supplement her income. Over the past 18 years she has worked in various aspects of real estate, including agent sales, interior design, home staging and property management. She has been an award winning real estate agent at Berkshire Hathaway, Presidio, and most recently ABC4’s Real Estate Essentials.
In 2011 her passion to support single parent families inspired her to create a foundation that created opportunities for people in the community to serve by participating in service projects that aimed to ease the burden of local single parent families. To date, this non profit organization has served over 176 families and enlisted over 5000 volunteers throughout Utah. Little Miracles Foundation has received national recognition for their efforts and have been highlighted in publications such as NYN Media and PEOPLE magazine. Tiani, and the foundation have also been featured in recent episodes of tv personality, Mike Rowe’s Returning the Favor, and Academy Award Winning documentary recipient, Bill Courtney’s An Army of Normal Folk.
Tiani married Joe Clyde in December of 2018, after a chance meeting at a Little Miracle service project in West Valley. Together they have 7 children, two daughter in-laws, one soon to be son-in-law, and their first grandchild arrives mid April, 2024.
