In the wake of Monday’s resignation of Kenny Parcell as 2023 President of the National Association of Realtors following a New York Times article where he was accused of sexual harassment against NAR staff and members, the organization has announced President-elect Tracy Kasper will begin her term immediately.
Kasper, who was set to become 2024 President in November, is the broker-owner of Berkshire Hathaway HomeServices Silverhawk Realty in Idaho’s Boise Valley and a majority owner in two other Idaho real estate companies. She has served on the NAR board of directors since 2016 and was president of the Idaho Association of Realtors in 2016.
In a statement issued by NAR, Kasper acknowledged Parcell’s unceremonious exit by stating that she was “incredibly sorry for what’s led us here. We recognize there is lots of concern, anger and disappointment, and we want to acknowledge the people who have come forward and shared their stories and those of you who have shared your perspective over the past few days.”
Kasper added, “We have taken everything we have heard to heart. Our commitment to our staff and our members is unwavering, and we will continue to enhance the way we foster a welcoming, safe and respectful workplace. We will work to ensure the relationship between staff and members acknowledges not only staff expertise but also their commitment to the association, in addition to the members.”
Interesting.
Frankly, I’m glad to see that Trumper gone.
That may be exactly why accusations were made against him – because of political differences. Certainly the far-left NAR can’t let a Republican take the helm, so just take a page out of the standard playbook and smear him falsely. Didn’t quite work on Kavanaugh, but at least you got the NAR president!
What a ridiculous statement Monty. Ignorant at best.
Move on NAR, staff needs to get to work with big insurance regarding sky rocketing homeowners cancellations and rate increases. National do something please,
