Donald Trump’s childhood home in Queens, New York, has been listed for sale for $2.3 million.
The Wall Street Journal reports the five-bedroom home at 85-15 Wareham Place in the Jamaica Estates neighborhood was built by the president’s father, Fred Trump, in 1940. The future president spent the first four years of his life at the residence before his family moved to a larger home.
The property had been vacant and derelict for years before it last changed hands in February $835,000; prior to that, it previously sold for $2.14 million shortly after Trump’s first term began and was briefly used as an Airbnb rental.
The current owner, real estate developer Tommy Lin, spent eight months gut renovating the property.
“There was no water in the house, no power – it was not livable,” said Lin, adding that he acquired the property due to the novelty aspect of having a home once occupied by a president.
President Trump has rarely spoken publicly about the property, and The Trump Organization did not comment on the sale.
