The owner of a Virginia real estate agency was shot in her home during a burglary on New Year’s Eve.
The Independent reports Judy Boone, the owner of Judy Boone Realty in Norfolk, was shot three times inside her home. The 72-year-old Boone was taken to the hospital and is currently in stable condition as she recovers from her injuries.
A neighbor told local media that Boone was inside her home when she was shot by someone outside, although police have not confirmed that account. Boone herself called to report she was shot. As of this writing, no suspects have been identified.
Norfolk Commonwealth’s Attorney Ramin Fatehi said the shooting “did not appear to be a random offense, but beyond that, for both the integrity of the investigation and out of respect for the rights of anybody ultimately charged, I can’t tell you more.”
