The former Los Angeles home where Walt Disney lived during his rise to Hollywood prominence is now available for rent at $40,000 a month.
The Wall Street Journal reported the 6,388-square-foot home at 4053 Woking Way in the city’s exclusive Los Feliz community was built by the filmmaker in 1932 in a Storybook style that resembled the enchanted castles of his animated films. Disney and his family lived in the four-bedroom, three-and-a-half bathrooms home for approximately 20 years, and during this period Disney would view his works in production – including the groundbreaking “Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs” and “Fantasia” – in his private screening room.
The property was acquired in 2011 by Kazakhstan-born film director Timur Bekmambetov for $3.7 million. Bekmambetov, who now resides in Israel and is only occasionally in Los Angeles, initially organized tours of the property and is now making it available as a rental residence.
