Wisconsin home sales in April were up 25.7% from one year earlier, according to new data from Wisconsin Realtors Association (WRA).
Last month recorded 5,532 sales, compared to 4,401 sales in April 2023, with every region in the state experiencing double-digit annual increases. On a year-to-date basis, sales were up by 12%.
April’s median price of $300,000 was up 6.4% from the previous year. On a year-to-date measurement, the median price increased to $285,000, up by 6.5% increase compared to the first four months of 2023.
New listings of homes rose 13% in April over the previous year, while total listings were up 6.1% over that same period.
“We’ve got a way to go before the market becomes balanced, but at least it’s moving in the right direction,” said WRA 2024 Chairwoman Mary Jo Bowe. “The growth trend in listings has really helped our sales this year, and it bodes well for robust growth this summer.”
