A luxury penthouse in Uruguay’s seaside resort city of Punta del Este is being listed for $17.2 million, a new record high for that South American country’s housing market.
Mansion Global reports the 17,500-square-foot condominium is based in Cipriana Punta del Este Resort, Residences and Casino, which is now under construction with a 2028 delivery date. The six-bedroom penthouse will feature a library, cinema room, indoor pool, wellness areas with a sauna, and a dedicated wine cellar. The building where the penthouse is based will have multiple amenities including a resort deck with multiple swimming pools and poolside cabanas, a residents’ lounge, a fitness center, a golf simulator, a skate park, an art studio, a bowling alley, a library, a podcast studio, and pickleball, padel and squash courts.
Edgardo Defortuna, CEO at Fortune International, who is leading sales for the project, observed, “This is a trophy property within a landmark development that introduces a level of design, hospitality and service that Punta del Este has never experienced before.”
Defortuna added that if the property sells at or above its listing price, it will also set a sales record for a condominium in the country – the previous record was at the same development last year for another penthouse at $17.1 million.
“This new listing continues that trajectory,” he said. “Buyers recognize that the product we are delivering is unique within the region.”
