Buffalo, New York-headquartered M&T Bank (NYSE:MTB) has recruited Tim Gallagher to become head of commercial real estate.
Gallagher joins M&T from Slate Asset Management, where he was managing director. Gallagher also held managing director positions at Annaly Capital Management, Prima Capital Advisors, Macquarie Group, Morgan Stanley and Goldman Sachs. Gallagher will report to Peter D’Arcy, his predecessor in the position and now M&T’s senior executive vice president and head of commercial banking.
“In this role, Gallagher will oversee all aspects of the CRE platform and strategy including both on and off-balance sheet activities,” said the bank in a press statement. “Matt Petrula will continue as head of Regional Real Estate and will work closely with Gallagher to coordinate and execute M&T’s CRE strategy.”
