The Ibiza mansion of soccer superstar Lionel Messi was vandalized by the extremist Spanish climate activist group Futuro Vegetal, which posted a video of their destructive antics on Instagram.
The New York Post reported the group broke into the property and sprayed it with black and red paint. They also opened a banner outside of its entrance that read: “Help the planet, eat the rich, abolish the police.” They also entered and vandalized the home and its garden.
Futuro Vegetal insisted the Argentine athlete’s residence was an “illegal construction” that contributed to the climate challenges of the region.
“The richest 1% of the population is responsible for the same amount of carbon emissions as the poorest two-thirds,” the group said. “We need a radical change of system to face the Climate Crisis.”
Messi, who plays for Inter Miami, was not at the property at the time of the assault and has not publicly commented. Argentina’s President Javier Milei denounced Futuro Vegetal as “communists who want to murder the rich and abolish the police to end climate change.”

How does murdering the rich and abolishing the police help the climate? Brainwashed idiots make irrelevant statements to support a cause that has merit, yet they don’t do anything to be helpful. Grow up, get a job, go to college, and attempt to make a positive change in our world by doing something USEFUL. I hope they go to jail for criminally damaging someone else’s property. SMH!
There have been extremists like this, in my memory, going back to the Vietnam war era, who think a stunt like this will win over the public. If that nations President has any sense the group should be infiltrated and the offending people arrested and detained. Finding out who funds they’re stunts should be another priority.
I’d like to see some data for top 1% being responsible for as much carbon emissions as the bottom 66%. I find that practically impossible. Just because you’re top 1% doesn’t mean you have more than 1 car per adult and ride in private jets and yachts.
FYI I don’t get the paint splattering all over stuff. Are they aware they have to use chemical sprays to remove that? smh….
