The National Association of Home Builders (NAHB) voiced its congratulations to Donald Trump on his return to the White House.
While NAHB did not endorse any candidates in this election, it had been repeatedly critical of Biden-Harris administration policies that the trade group blamed for increasing the costs of home construction while limiting the quantity of projects being built.
“The National Association of Home Builders congratulates President-elect Donald Trump on his election as the 47th president of the United States and all the candidates who were elected to the 119th Congress,” said NAHB Chairman Carl Harris, a custom home builder from Wichita, Kansas. “Throughout the campaign, voters consistently pointed to the lack of housing availability and affordability as a key issue in their voting decisions. Now is the time to take action to address the nation’s housing shortage and let builders build.”
Harris added that his organization “looks forward to working with the incoming Trump administration and leaders in Congress from both parties to enact a pro-housing legislative and regulatory agenda that increases the nation’s housing supply and eases the nation’s affordability woes.”
