A real estate agent in New Zealand has a unique approach to marketing one of his properties – he’s emphasizing its walking-distance proximity to a McDonald’s eatery.
According to a report on the news site Stuff, Harcourts realtor Sanjay Kumar has a listing for an Auckland home with the headline “Close to McDonald’s” and a promotional text that priorities the proximity of the Golden Arches to the property.
“To all burger lovers who want to buy house walking distance to McDonald’s and walkdown whenever you want, then this 3 bedroom is best buy for you,” said the listing, which noted the property also has “road frontage, single garage, heaps of parking – what else you want? Call now for viewing.”
The McDonald’s in question is a 10-minute walk from the property, and Kumar acknowledged the Big Mac appeal was to attract buyers who could not afford to drive to their favorite fast-food eatery. His strategy has begun to generate results, with two inquiries from McDonald’s-loving homebuyers.
And while the listing does not include a sale price, the Auckland Council said the property has a capital value of $650,000.
Be that as it may, I’ve lived in NZ (1980’s) and just so you know at $650K, you are not looking at a real high end home for that country.
