The Trump administration is reportedly planning to offer New York City Mayor Eric Adams a position in the Department of Housing and Urban Development if he drops his re-election campaign.
A Politico report sourced from an unnamed “person with direct knowledge of the offer who was granted anonymity to speak candidly about a sensitive matter” claims the administration wants Adams out of the race to halt the progress made by Democratic Socialist Zohran Mamdani, who is leading in the polls in a four-man mayoral campaign that includes former New York Gov. Andrew Cuomo and Guardian Angels founder Curtis Sliwa. Having Adams out of the mayoral race would strengthen Cuomo’s standing as the prime opponent to Mamdani – Sliwa was reportedly also approached for a potential administration job if he dropped out but turned down the offer.
Adams met with members of the administration on Tuesday during a trip to Florida. It is unclear what role Adams would play at HUD, as major positions within the department are already filled.
However, the New York Times is reporting that the administration is pitching the role of US Ambassador to Saudi Arabia to Adams if he drops his re-election campaign. This report, which is sourced from “four people familiar with the discussions,” claims Steve Witkoff, a real estate investor who serves as a diplomatic envoy for Trump, has “actively pursued the matter” through direct meetings with Adams.

Hope this is not true.
Now they’re bribing people to change election outcomes……. It sure sounds like manipulation.
