The real estate development firm Related Companies has been hired to construct a $7 billion data center outside of Detroit for the Stargate project venture between OpenAI and Oracle (NYSE: ORCL).

The Wall Street Journal reports Related’s 250-acre campus in Saline Township, Michigan, will be the fourth new site in the $300 billion Stargate endeavor. The new data center will be designed to deliver more than one gigawatt of computing capacity, which is roughly the same energy lode used to power over 750,000 homes. The Michigan utility DTE Energy will supply all the power for the project.

Related will build the facilities and infrastructure for this project while Oracle will lease the campus and outfit it with the racks and GPUs. Oracle has a separate service arrangement with OpenAI on the project.

Related, which is best known for its commercial real estate projects including the Hudson Yards complex in Manhattan, began planning its data center development operations three years ago. Among its other projects, the company is completing a 64-megawatt expansion in Ontario for CoreWeave and is moving ahead with a 302-megawatt campus in Cheyenne, Wyoming and a 1.2-gigawatt facility near St. Louis.
