Georgia’s housing market saw a new record sale with a Sea Island mansion changing hands for $30 million.
The Wall Street Journal reports the 2.32-acre property known as Entelechy II was designed by the late Atlanta architect and developer John Portman. The property was originally listed in November 2024 for $40 million and included some pieces from the Portman family’s art collection along with some furnishings; the buyer was not identified.
Portman built Entelechy II in the 1980s as a summer house for his family. The 12,500-square-foot, three-level residence encompasses several pavilions and features seven bedrooms plus eight-and-a-half bathrooms. An adjacent 3,432-square-foot guesthouse that was not designed by Portman was also part of the sale.
