Capital Square Housing Trust, a Richmond, Virginia-based real estate investment trust, has named Gus Remppies as president. He succeeds Whit Huffman, who was previously president and chief investment and strategy officer and has now taken on the role of CEO.
Remppies most recently served as president of Capital Square Living, the wholly owned property management subsidiary of Capital Square, where he built and led the platform to its current scale of more than 13,000 apartment homes across 58 properties in 23 markets, 35 cities and eight states, supported by more than 300 team members. Prior to Capital Square Living, Remppies served as an executive officer of five public companies, including executive vice president and chief investment officer of Cornerstone Realty Income Trust. Following the sale of Cornerstone, Remppies co-founded Landmark Apartment Trust (formerly known as Grubb Ellis Apartment REIT).
