Worthe is the president of Worthe Real Estate Group, a Santa Monica, California-based developer of Los Angeles-based office properties. This is the second political appointment within a month for Worthe, who is a prominent donor to Democratic politicians and political action committees – in August, California Gov. Gavin Newsom appointed him to the state’s Privacy Protection Agency Board. Last December, Worthe and his wife were guests at the White House for the state dinner in honor of French President Emmanuel Macron.

Worthe is being joined in the U.S. delegation by Rep. Barbara Lee (D-CA), Rep. French Hill (R-AR), political consultant Janet Keller, former Georgia state Rep. Calvin Smyre, the president emeritus of the National Black Caucus of State Legislators who was nominated by Biden earlier this year to become U.S. ambassador to the Bahamas.
