The Northern California estate that was once the home of Oscar-winning singer and actor Bing Crosby has been listed for sale at $28.9 million, nine months after it sold for $25 million.
When the property sold last June, it was marked down from its original asking price of $40 million.
The Wall Street Journal reports the sellers, Mehrdad and Neda Elie, spent the past eight months and approximately $3 million updating the property, Mehrdad Elie is the founder of the real-estate investment firm ElieCorp, and part of the renovations included approximately $400,000 on landscaping and the installation of a new swimming pool to replace the one Crosby had filled in.
The French chateau-style residence in Silicon Valley enclave of Hillsborough was built in 1929 and spans 14,000 square feet, with 11 bedrooms, 10 full bathrooms and five half-bathrooms. Crosby acquired the property in 1965 and lived there until his death in 1977. His heirs listed the home in 2024 after the passing of his widow, former actress Kathryn Grant.
