The Northern California estate that was once the home of the legendary singer and actor Bing Crosby was sold for $25 million, down considerably from its original asking price of $40 million.
According to combined media reports, the French chateau-style residence in Silicon Valley enclave of Hillsborough was built in 1929 and spans 14,000 square feet, with 11 bedrooms, 10 full bathrooms and five half-bathrooms. Crosby, a highly popular recording star who won an Oscar for his performance in the 1944 film “Going My Way,” acquired the property in 1965 and lived there until his death in 1977. His heirs listed the home last year after the passing of his widow, former actress Kathryn Grant.
Listing agent Jennifer Gilson of Golden Gate Sotheby’s International Realty said the property had been on the market for three months. She added the buyer, who was not publicly identified saw “the incredible potential of the property and the opportunity to tailor it to modern living. Ultimately, the buyer who secured the estate valued the rare combination of acreage, location, and architectural presence, and looks forward to thoughtfully enhancing the home to meet today’s standards for future buyers.”

I cried when I heard Bing Crosby had died; he was a Treasured Legend! There is no one who can sing “White Christmas “ as well nor many of his other songs! “Bing” His acting was superb and his personal appearances for the troops phenomenal. Loved him yesterday; love him today and will continue always!
