Last month, Calgary saw 450 sales for condominium apartments, up 23 per cent from September last year. It was an all-time high for the month, eclipsing the previous record set in 2014 with 432 sales.
Row also set a record last month with 327 sales, an increase of three per cent from last year — which had been the previous record for September with 332 sales.
Overall, though, sales for all housing types fell last month by 12 per cent year over year and have been “trending downward” since spring, Lurie says.
Last month, the market saw 1,901 transactions, down from the peak in March of 4,107 sales.
