A new contest is underway with a $1.8 million property in Fredericksburg, Virginia, as the grand prize – and the winner of this competition will be judged solely on their literary skills.
The new “Write Your Way Home” Contest challenges entrants to submit a 250- to 500-word essay on the theme: “Why I Want to Live in Historic Downtown Fredericksburg.” According to Edward and Lewis LLC, the real estate development and management company behind this endeavor, the winning essay will be selected “based on originality, emotional impact, and alignment with the contest theme by a panel of independent judges.”
Submissions are due by Sept. 29 and must be accompanied by a $200 entry fee. The contest has set a minimum of 15,000 entries, and if that level is passed all funds raised above the minimum will be donated to the Fredericksburg Regional Food Bank and the Fredericksburg SPCA.
More information on the contest is available at www.writeyourwayhome.net, while the grand prize for the contest can be viewed here.
