Two months after a GoFundMe campaign was started to prevent his eviction from a rented house in Los Angeles, Oscar-nominated actor Mickey Rourke has vacated the residence where he stopped paying rent.
The New York Post reports control of the house was returned to its landlord, Eric T. Goldie. In December, a court filing demanded Rourke either pay $59,100 in back rent or vacate the premises in three days.
The GoFundMe was launched in Rourke’s name by Liya-Joelle Jones, an assistant to Kimberly Hines, Rourke’s manager for the past nine years. Hines confirmed her team started the page after Rourke was served with an eviction notice. Rourke vehemently denied knowledge of the campaign and Hines added the collected money would be returned to donors.
Rourke was last seen at the home in January and was reportedly staying at a luxury West Hollywood Hotel.
