The State of Georgia has announced the execution date for Stacey Ian Humphreys, who was convicted 22 years ago in the murder of two realtors.
11alive.com reports Stacey Ian Humphreys will be put to death by lethal injection on Dec. 17. This will be the state’s first execution of a death row inmate for 2025.
Humphreys was found guilty Sept. 25, 2007, on two counts of malice murder in the deaths of Lori Brown and Cynthia Williams inside a model home in Cobb County on Nov. 3, 2003. Humphreys was arrested in Wisconsin following a massive manhunt.
Humphreys’ legal team filed multiple appeals over the past two decades, delaying the implementation of the death sentence. His execution will be Georgia’s first since Willie James Pye was put to death on March 20, 2024.
