Federal Housing Finance Agency (FHFA) Director Bill Pulte has made a new criminal referral to the Department of Justice on alleged mortgage fraud, this time aiming at Federal Reserve Governor Lisa D. Cook.
In a posting on his personal X account, Pulte claimed that Cook “committed mortgage fraud by designating her out of state condo as her primary residence, just two weeks after taking a loan on her Michigan home where she also declared it as her primary residence. When someone commits mortgage fraud, they undermine the faith and integrity of our System. It does not matter who you are – no one is above the law.”
Pulte added “the DOJ should go wherever the facts may lead them” and then warned that Fed Chairman Jerome Powell must look into it or he is complicit.” It is unclear whether Pulte communicated with the Fed’s Office of the Inspector General regarding the issue.
President Trump weighed in on Truth Social with the blunt message: “Cook must resign, now!!!”
Cook was nominated to the central bank’s Board of Governors by then-President Biden in 2022, making history as the first Black woman to serve on the board. She was previously on the board of directors of the Federal Reserve Bank of Chicago.

That’s the way we come together as a nation. We find common ground on issues like crime. If you commit a crime, wether you’re a Democrate or Republican, you should be punished. That common ground should be extened to a lot of issues. They’re our daughters and sisters.
That fraud should not be tolerated. She certainly should know better. She is not above the law and needs to be replaced.

Bill Pulte’s gangster style “leadership” and hyper partisan posture is damaging the image of an otherwise inconspicuous federal regulatory agency. Leadership is not portrayed on social media. The practice of making hyper partisan appointments and unfettered loyalty by this administration is destroying our federal agencies. This allegation should not have been made on social media by this water carrying spoilt brat Chairman on social media. Referral to the DOJ is sufficient. He should let them do their investigation without the needless political pressure. This need to stop.

The Federal Reserve wants to be an “inconspicuous federal regulatory agency” but we all know that is not the truth. And the media attacked Trump for the same thing and more. What comes around goes around. MAIN POINT: The post above wants us to believe the THE FEDERAL RESERVE is merely “inconspicuous”. They certainly may want to appear as such but they are that is the furthest thing from the truth.

Accusations are NOT proof of guilt. Anytime someone disagrees with Trump, some accusation arises. The Trump MAGA team have made endless accusations and have almost never taken those accusations to the courtrooms simply because they LACK that pesky thing called “evidence”. Let’s see if the accusations against Lisa Cook end up going to court and see how this plays out before she is labeled as guilty.
It may be that she did have a primary condo residence and later had another home as a primary residence. In real estate, we see this all the time, and it is not a crime to switch your primary residence, even if done soon after buying a home. A job relocation, a health crisis, etc. might require a move to another residence. So what!
When Trump has gone to court he has mostly lost his cases, including 63 of the 64 cases he brought to court claiming “voter fraud” in the 2020 election. Notably, the lawyers for Trump did NOT argue “fraud” inside the courtrooms because they lacked any evidence to make that assertion, though they kept up that mantra on social media.
Adam Schiff and others have been targeted by Trump too. Let’s see if Trump takes those accusations to a courtroom and see who wins. If people are shown to be guilty then they should be held accountable, something Trump and MAGA never require of their team players.
Trump does NOT care about the law. He uses accusations to convince people of lies, and his followers gobble up those lies like a juicy steak. Trump now says he worries about cops and ICE agents being targeted, yet he encouraged attacks on Cops on Jan. 6, 2021, and cops were killed, some committed suicide, and others were severely injured, and others suffer PTSD due to the Jan. 6 attacks, yet Trump pardoned all the Jan. 6 criminals. It appears that Trump may pardon Epstein’s child sex groomer, Maxwell, who was NOT a candidate to be moved to the cushy Texas work prison camp where she has been relocated and can now work outside the prison. This is similar to the light sentence that Epstein got in his first conviction where he only had to sleep at jail but was free to go about his business during the daytime.
The MAGA crowd is mad at Trump about the Epstein files, but if they are ever released, they will be heavily redacted because Trump cares about Trump, and his supporters always stick by his side, even though Trump is a serial abuser of women, perhaps under-aged girls too. We may never know.

Don Dewar appears to not understand his GOP party’s history.
He states that Republicans freed “your slaves”, meaning the slaves owned by southern Democrats.
Okay, Don is partly right… but not about the modern GOP being part of that emancipation effort.
Quite the opposite.
The GOP TODAY IS the party of the Confederate Democrats of the 1800’s.
The GOP has morphed 180 degrees over the past 6 decades, yet GOP advocates fail to see the radical changes that have happened to the GOP since 1964.
Why 1964?
The Civil Rights Act (CRA) passed and was signed into law by President Johnson (a Democrat). That was a game changing moment for supporters and opposers and for each political party, especially the GOP.
Both parties voted majority YES to pass the CRA.
But the breakdown of the votes in each party is the interesting part and triggered the revamping of the GOP by those who opposed the CRA.
I doubt most people realize the voting results and how this would NOT happen today with the current MAGA (or even the previous Tea Party) GOP.
Here is the 1964 CRA Final Vote results (by party).
SENATE
GOP voted a staggering 82% YES. WOW! 13 points higher than the Dems.
Dems voted just under 69% YES.
HOUSE
GOP voted 77% YES. WOW AGAIN! 17 points higher than the Dems.
Dems voted 60% YES.
Thus, the OLD 1964 version of the GOP was far MORE progressive on Civil Rights than were 1964 Democrats. Though both parties did vote majority YES. That’s good news.
The bigots in BOTH parties were furious that the CRA passed. They blamed President Johnson and the Democratic Party, despite the GOP supporting CRA at a higher percentage in both houses of Congress.
The Bigots (and their corporate backers) set about to do 2 things.
1) Recruit bigots from both parties to join the GOP to gain enough GOP voters to push the GOP into majority seat holders in Congress.
2) Gut the GOP of its progressive members and cull even the moderates.
This was called “removing the Rhinos”, and interviews and documentaries show the new upstart GOP members bragging about their goals to turn the GOP into a “Christian Nationalist Party”, with emphasis on white nationalism and a goal to turn the U.S. into an Evangelical government (literally the opposite of the Founding Father’s goals to keep church and state separated).
John McCain (GOP) was certainly no liberal but was targeted as a Rhino but survived to win his Senate races and die as a Senator. His last vote to protect the Affordable Care Act (under Trump’s 1st term) was pivotal in preventing the NEW GOP from gutting the ACA.
Under the ACA, insurance providers still have to allow you to be insured even with pre-existing bad health conditions, thanks to Democrats and a handful of RHINO Republicans.
The strategy to gut the GOP of its progressive (and sane) members was strategically planned and included overt and subtle overtures to white bigots in the south.
The Southern Strategy of the 1960’s onward was highly effective, and by the late 1970’s most of the southern states were Republican controlled under this new version of the GOP.
Reagan’s August 1980 campaign speech at a Fair Grounds in Mississippi was a strategically located outreach to southern white bigots, with the speech platform located just a few miles from the site of 3 murdered Civil Rights workers killed by the KKK in 1964.
Reagan banged on about supporting state and local rights, parring down the Federal powers, and lowering taxes. This was a clear dog whistle to Southern bigots eager to re-establish local white supremacy and less Federal intrusions that forced Civil Rights laws and integration on resistant white southerners.
The GOP has morphed dramatically since 1964. When I registered for my first election at age 21 in 1980, I assumed I would register as a Republican, in large part due to the support that the GOP had displayed for Civil Rights and several environmental protection laws, including the Endangered Species Act. But, when I took a closer look at Reagan, I knew the party was changing rapidly. It was a sad realization.
Corporations, Bigots, Evangelicals and the revamped GOP.
The corporate class saw power grab opportunities by recruiting bigots and evangelicals who were seeking to form a “Christian religion government”. This was well reported and publicly admitted by the new GOP who sought and succeeded in getting rid of “Rhinos” who were too moderate for the right wing zealots that became the Tea Party and later the more extreme MAGAs.
For those who say that they are “conservative”. You may want to revisit some history that reveals the flip that the GOP has achieved in switching the GOP into the Confederate Democratic Party of Old Dixie. Trump’s efforts to gut even the most minor DEI programs and attacking educational institutions that teach a more inclusive version of history and his efforts to restore Confederate monuments while negating and trimming down the full histories of Native Americans, Black Americans, and other minorities, and even removing from National Parks the full history of discrimination (including at Japanese Concentration Camps) is a clear sign that the Confederate Democrats never ceded losing the Civil War. To them, that was a mere battle lost, and now they feel that they are winning the real War by cloaking themselves in the flag of the Confederate GOP.
White MAGAs will soon learn that the Corporate Oligarchy will target them too once they run out of other scapegoats. The cuts to many programs will also harm white MAGAs, but many are willing to suffer greatly on the alter of celebrating bigotries against someone else.
It’s actually ironically hilarious to see the bigoted GOP rail against “GAYS” for over 20 years, with House Speaker Mike Johnson having claimed that “Gays” can cause empires to fall.
Yet, Mike Johnson supports Trump, who appointed the highest ranking OPENLY GAY person to head the Treasury Department, no less! The GOP once used “gay marriage” and “gays having children” as an attack point to garner more votes from bigots, and it worked.
And now Scott Bessent, appointed under Trump, is that highly dangerous empire destroying GAY married man with 2 children who is now head of the TREASURY Department! Oh my God! Will our nation fall to ruins with this Gay man controlling our money system!!!

Trump accuses a lot of people without evidence, without taking his claims to the courtroom. Lisa Cook is in a long line of people accused of something, anything to distract MAGAs from what Trump is doing.
Accusations against enemies takes the spotlight off of “Tariffs” that are being paid by U.S. businesses and U.S. consumers, with prices rising steadily and some businesses closing because they cannot afford the Tariffs. So, regardless of those Tariff funds going into the U.S. coffers, it would have been much easier to just directly tax people, rather than go through the disruptive antics of Trump’s schizo Tariff roller coaster ride. But the distraction allows for insiders, like Trump, to lay bets on the Stock Market as is jumps up and down with each Tariff shift.
Who is Guilty of what crimes?
Trump WAS convicted of Fraud, what, 34 times? and has lost most of his other cases (as a President wielding his Executive Order Pen). The accusations against Trump turned into real court decisions of GUILTY, GUILTY, GUILTY (backed by real evidence).
Somehow, MAGAs forget that a full court case matters. Sure, people can disagree about a ruling or a jury decision, but at least evidence is presented and argued and witnesses giving testimony and cross examined and all within the context of the legal system.
The Supreme Court and some Appeals Courts (with many right wing judges) have given Trump wide leeway as legal challenges mount against his Executive Orders, so the damages continue while court cases play out because many appeals courts often have refused to allow injunctions set by lower courts.
That is why the GOP spent 6 decades packing the courts with far right wing judges.
Trump has violated so many laws, including the emoluments clause of the Constitution.
But Clarence Thomas loves violating bribe prevention laws too, as he has collected millions in gifts while being a sitting Supreme Court Justice overseeing court cases in which his “gift givers” have cases. So Clarence is good with Trump’s grift, jealous even.
The Epstein files are a sore point with Trump. Remember that UNDER Trump’s first term, Epstein was in jail and UNDER A SUICIDE WATCH, with a video camera and 2 security guards watching him.
YET, Mysteriously, the guards left their post and the video cameras “broke?” (oh sure, nothing suspicious there), and Epstein was found dead, with suicide as the label, when the situation screams “murder”. I doubt Trump acted alone. I suspect that the British played a role in dispatching Epstein to meet his maker, and Bill Barr sat back making excuses for this death under Trump’s watch.
Clearly, Epstein had info that would have been very troublesome to Trump and maybe to Democrats too. He is silent now, and Trump won on that death.
But Trump and MAGA keep lobbing out soft ball distractions accusing anyone who stands in their way of any crime they can concoct, no matter how small the crime, and even if that claim is a lie and usually ends up being a false flag with NO court cases filed, the endless distractions work on MAGAs.
But what is the distraction about?
A lot. Living wages, high cost of living, secure jobs, affordable medical care, etc.
Many MAGAs need their local hospitals, and many of those hospitals need Medicaid users whose Medicaid assistance is being cut hard, with some looking at a 75% increase in their medical coverage fees. The cuts are not set to go into effect UNTIL AFTER the MIDTERM election (and that is by design to get MAGA votes before the SH_T hits the Fan and poor MAGAs get that huge Pie in the Face). But hospitals in cities and in rural areas are already closing due to what they know will be funding depletions in the near future, and that will impact many MAGAs, including those with Regular Medical Coverage because many of those hospitals survive on thin margins supported in part by Medicaid dollars.
Trump never built a single job producing facility, though he promised that in his first and second terms. People complain about low wages but support the GOP’s relentless fights to keep national wages super low $7.25 per hour). Worker safety laws are being gutted again. Trump has repealed the limits on pollution dumping that will harm humans and the environment and pollute the air, soils, and waters. Trump’s orders do not require polluting companies to even report how much they are polluting, yet RFK says ZERO about that.
Agricultural operations pollute massively and are a known primary factor in Parkinson’s, a preventable disease (see NPR’s interview with 2 neurologists, aired on the show A1 on August 19, at 8:00 am). Yet RFK says ZERO about those disease causing chemicals.
But look for another mortgage fraud accusation so that you do NOT see how you are being screwed over to support those massive tax cuts and tax credits for Billionaires and the polluting Mega Corporations. Just talk about those 2 primary residences and keep your eyes OFF Trump’s roving wrecking ball.

These people knew a person cannot legally claim two homes as a primary residence at the same time. Some people think cheating and lying is ok if you can get away with it and others think there should be accountability. Both groups claim they know the truth. I am thankful for independent news sources as the legacy media is not fair and balanced, promotes disinformation and withholds information. Neither political party is perfect, but the choice is easy for me. One party is pro-life and the other pro-abortion. One party is pro-marriage as God obviously designed for 1 man and 1 woman, the other redefines marriage to fit their desires. One party wants to protect our borders, the other wants open borders (which results in more drugs, human trafficking and all sorts of crime, and increases costs on tax payers for free public assistance). One party is for school vouchers to allow more opportunity and freedom of choice, the other is more interested in teacher’s union where they can control teachers and curriculum and indoctrination of children. One party is for law and order, the other for “defund the police” and soft policies towards criminals. One party is for voter ID, the other party wants lax rules related to voting (which invites fraud). This list goes on and on…each person can make a choice on which side they support.
For all of you saying this is a “hit” on a Democrat nominated government official, what do you tell your clients when they ask if they should put a second home on the loan as their primary residence? It IS mortgage fraud. I have 2nd homes and never claimed it to be a primary residence. The only reason to do that is for the lower interest rate.
